Additional Information by zackspaw (12)   22/12/2021

This release from the original 1982 mastertape "Vincent Van Gogh, A Portrait in Two Parts" was prepared by Philips and Du Pont Optical (PDO) to commemorate the 100th anniversary of Van Gogh's arrival in Arles, a point in his artistic life considered his most classical period.

Includes a 4-page insert containing a detailed description of the artist's distinctive creative periods, plus brief instructions on how best to use the laserdisc's special features for viewer entertainment and educational benefit.

Distributed by the Voyager Company.

Van Gogh Revisited (1982)
An interactive laserdisc journey through the art, life and times of Vincent Van Gogh, written by Jean-Pierre Isbouts and hosted and narrated by Leonard Nimoy. Consists of 16 chapters comprised of approximately 400 still photos of works by Van Gogh and an additional 50 works by other artists. These stills are accompanied by two alternative audio channels--the left channel with narrative and critical commentary by Mr. Nimoy, and the right channel with Van Gogh's own thoughts, excerpted from his letters to his brother Theo, and to artist friends.
