This is a slightly edited version, and is shorter than the U.S. and Japanese releases. Only the opening and closing credits are letterboxed at 2.35:1.

In a direct side-by-side comparison with the uncut U.S. release [74766], I discovered that this version is time-compressed, which partially accounts for the difference in running time. However, there is also footage missing from two scenes, as follows:

• In the scene when Beethoven's secretary, Schindler, talks to Giulietta, some brief female nudity has been removed from the flashback with her cousins Theresa and Josephine in Vienna. This includes one of her cousins running into the woods with Beethoven and beginning to remove her clothing. It also includes Giulietta bathing and dressing for the evening at Prince Lichnowsky's palace.
• A few glimpses of nudity have been deleted in the scene when Beethoven and the soldiers find Johanna and Caspar in bed together, and Beethoven shouts, "Arrest that whore!"
