A significantly cut down version of the mainland Chinese film "A Soul Haunted by Painting." The original runtime is 130 minutes. This LD appears to be a PAL->NTSC transfer that runs 92 minutes (95 minutes originally). The provenance of this particular cut is unknown, although it's presumably an international cut or a cut intended only for Hong Kong. (There are Cantonese and Mandarin dubs, although the original film was in Mandarin.) The opening is different, entire scenes are missing or significantly trimmed, etc.

The cover lists a 91 min. runtime but it's much closer to 92 min. The LD ends with an unrelated music video.

Despite there existing a Traditional Chinese title (畫魂), the jacket and the film itself use the Simplified Chinese version (画魂). Ironically, the original cut uses the Traditional Chinese title!
