Although this release displays slightly more picture information on the sides of the image than the Indonesian release [AS0005], which appears to be an open matte transfer, the Indonesian disc displays noticeably more picture information on the top and bottom of the image.

This release is 4 minutes longer than the Indonesian release, mostly due to time-compression on the Indonesian disc. However, in a direct side-by-side comparison of the two discs, I did note two other minor differences. There is a brief bit of footage (about 8 seconds) of Rabar, the tribal chief's son, following Michael and Elizabeth through the desert which is inexplicably absent from this disc, but included on the Indonesian one. Also, this Hong Kong release includes about 20 seconds of footage showing Elizabeth wading topless and bathing in the water hole, which has been deleted on the Indonesian disc.
