Remastered version of [7090-80], with a widescreen transfer and digital soundtrack (and not to mention, an AC3 soundtrack!)

The picture quality and transfer of this release is much better compared to the original release, which looks a bit darker visually, and is also affected by the poor pan-and-scanning. The film is also presented in Stereo as a Dolby Surround soundtrack as opposed to the original release, which was only presented with an analog Mono soundtrack.

The ‘Allied Artists Pictures’ logo that premiered on this film when it was released theatrically is removed here, with it being plastered over with the 1984 Warner Bros. Pictures logo; this is a mile above the 1984 release, which cuts to the film after the CBS/FOX logo.

Interestingly, both the featurette and theatrical trailer have the Dolby Digital soundtrack present on there, which even uses all surround channels (including the LFE track for some reason), which makes not really too much sense, but I guess that what they wanted. The featurette is presented in 1.33:1, with the theatrical trailer being shown in 1.85:1.

The labels on the first disc do not mention the presence of a Dolby Digital soundtrack (but instead mention ‘Stereo’ in place of where it should be), but is only mentioned on the first side of the second disc. Because of this, this leads me to assume that this was going to be a non-AC3 release and was changed sometime to include it, but Warner couldn’t redesign the labels in time to add mention of it.
