At the beginning of the disc, the name and logo of Buddha Video appear on the screen. However, those of Gull Audio-Visual Marketing Co., Ltd. are also shown on the back of the box. This is packaged as part of "The Best Collection", and the spine of the box bears the volume number 8 in this series.

With the film letterboxed at its' original theatrical aspect ratio, there would have been plenty of room to place the Taiwanese subtitles out of picture in the black letterboxing band. However, for some unknown reason, the disc producers chose to place them in the picture instead.

Most of the text on the box appears to have been directly copied from the U.S. Criterion Collection CAV release [CC1185L] (the color scheme and style of the artwork is virtually identical), although much of it is incorrect for this release. For example, the running time is wrongly listed as 220 minutes, and the number of chapters as 39. Also, it states that the production stills which were included on the Criterion CAV release are on this release, but they are not. Furthermore, the text erroneously states, "CLV Full Feature Format"!
