This disc was made in colabration between the Free University of Berlin and Eumetsat. It is an interactive disc for meteorology students.
To give you a good idea what this very rare disc is about I will cite the back cover:
CLOUD MOTION IMAGE SEQUENCES FROM GEOSTATIONARY AND POLAR-ORBITING WEATHER SATELLITES
CONTENTS
METEO DISC is designed as a so-called resource disc. METEO DISC contains about 600 image sequences from geostationary
and polar-orbiting meteorological satellites. Most scenes are made of METEOSAT image data, but there are also scenes
from ATS-3, SMS-1, GEOS-E, GMS-1, and NOAA-7 and -9...
The chapters are arranged by dates; each chapter is based on one single homogeneous set of image data, which in many
cases was processed under aspects of covered area or time interval... Chapter 1 presents an overview of the spatio-
temporal distribution of all image sequences, while chapter 2 offers a collection of key words with reference to
appropriate chapters.
INTRODUCTORY FILM
The bi-lingual film "Cloud Motions: Dynamic Scales and Display" by C.ZICK and G.WARNECKE demonstrates the different
possibilities of displaying and manipulating cloud motions from satellite images sequences. Some of these loop modes
can be generated through remote control units of disc players, others only through PC-controlled access.
OPERATING THE DISC
METEO DISC can be operated by the standard commands "play", "step", and "search" from a remote control unit. Almost
all image sequences have stop-codes on their first and last images...
