Additional Information by zackspaw (12)   22/04/2010

This is a series that overlays beautiful video footage of classic European venues with popular works of classical music, and completely without narrative. It is a far more entertaining, eloquent, and soothing way to immerse oneself in the joy of good music than by simply staring at an orchestra on a stage.

From the back cover:

"(the series) invites you on a journey into sound, a journey in which the visual perfectly complements the musical. You will discover a powerful link between landscapes and the rhythms articulated through those great composers who were inspired by them. Nowhere, perhaps, is this relationship more strongly realised than in the castles, museums, churches and cathedrals of Europe, each commemorating traditions of musical patronage and worship which have shaped civilisation throughout the ages."

Identical to [LVD9229] issued by Lumivision as part of their Classical Visual Music series. Both versions are attributable to Naxos. Produced in Zurich, Switzerland. Includes 2-page insert, all in Japanese.
