Originally issued in 1993 as individual disc releases for 6,300 yen except for the first disc, SLRM2001 which cost 4,800 Yen. Discs were released on the Sony Records LaserDisc/Sony Classical label. Discs are B/W kinescopes and videotape with mono digital sound up until the last few disc releases which are color and in true stereo sound. Each disc has an insert listing the other titles in the series along with their content and catalog numbers. All 13 discs in the series are pressed by Pioneer Japan with excellent picture and sound quality. No box was issued to hold the 13 discs and unlike the later re-release, they are in standard Japanese cardboard jackets and regular clear plastic (not yellow) discs.

This is a wonderful educational series for young and old alike and really instills a love for classical music. It's a shame it didn't get released in the USA.
