The negative format used for the original production filming was 65mm processed to SUPER-CINERAMA/SUPER PANAVISION 70, 70mm prints & 35mm anamorphic prints. On the front & rear of the OBI is 70mm but the transfer is not from a 70mm source - it is from a 35mm print, 35mm is mentioned within the rear cover text in Japanese. There are a few Japanese releases with 70mm on the OBIs but most (all?) use 35mm source material.

Not a poor transfer but not great & the image throughout is rather soft. The source print used is quite marked in some places & there are projection cue marks. It is not presented in the intended cinema ratio as some of the side framing is lost - this is most notable during the opening credits & the "split-screen" sections of the feature.

Lovely gatefold cover design with numerous stills from the feature used, much nicer than the "standard" US & Japanese releases. All text on the inner cover notes are in Japanese with the exception of the reproduction of the on screen opening & closing credits which are in English.
