VistaVision image is presented full-frame, without mattes, so there is more picture information above and below when compared to the MGM Deluxe Letterbox Edition released in the U.S., leaving lots of extra space for the Japanese subtitles. There may be a sliver less picture info on the sides as well. Color is more muted than on the U.S. release. Audio is apparently monaural. There is no overture.
