As well as the Strauss Opera this disc includes the final performance of Joan Sutherland on the Operatic Stage. This sequence is on side three and includes Aria recitals by Sutherland accompinied by Luciano Pavarotti and Marilyn Horne. After the Arias the speeches of farewell for her are also included.

Included is a booklet with a short synopsis of the operette, followed by a description of Vienna and its people in the 1870s and how this is reflected in Die Fledermaus, also translated in German, French and Italian.
