Encoded in 4-channel quadraphonic sound using the mono & stereo compatible CBS SQ Quadraphonic Matrix System. Correct decoding can only be achieved with a Fosgate Tate II 101A SQ decoder or an Audionics Space & Image Composer. Both decoders use the Tate Directional Enhancement System and were the only truly accurate SQ quadraphonic decoders ever produced. The Fosgate 101A uses faster, better performing versions of the Tate DES integrated circuits. "Acceptable" decoding can be achieved with a Full Wave-Matching w/Vari-Blend Gain Riding Logic decoder.
Digital Sound edition has the same quadraphonic sound mix. Gary Reber of Widescreen Review was directly involved in the encoding and mixing, as he was with David Bowie's Serious Moonlight LaserDisc and Buddy Rich LD, both of which are also SQ quadraphonic encoded.
Dolby Pro-Logic will correctly position the Left, Center and Right Front channels but produce incorrect imaging for the other channels/directions.
