This movie is formatted on the disc as Academy Ratio, switching to any ratio a certain movie clip demands. This is opposite from the theatrical version, which was filmed in 2.35:1 with black bars on the sides of the screen.

At 55:50 on side 2 the end credits inform us that "The MGM musical classics excerpted in this film are available in their entirety on videocassette and laser disc from MGM/UA home video".
