This release was quickly discontinued and released with a different name and art cover on [SHLY-35].

My copy had the disc leak so much glue that it's impossible to remove the plastic holding bag and, even if I were to tear it apart, the disc playable side is covered in glue residue.

"Madonna In Sex Rape" is a re-title (on this Japanese laserdisc only) of "A Certain Sacrifice". Originally shot on Super 8mm film stock. More of a "student" exercise than a production intended for exposure. Madonna did not want this film released in any form but she demanded payment for her "work" & signed a release form - her payment was $100. If she had not been paid & had not signed the release this would not have been issued commercially in any form as she could have blocked distribution. Re-titled in Japan only as "MADONNA in SEX RAPE" but this was pulled from retailers shelves very quickly when released. This may have been only a day or two after issue as it was recalled as a matter of some urgency. This was pressed in low numbers & the recalled discs were "reworked" so some of the reissued discs may have a new label over the original while others may not. The covers were hastily reprinted with the original title (A Certain Sacrifice) & the same picture on the front but with a blue tint, the "SEX RAPE" cover had an orange tint. Given the low numbers pressed both cover versions are hard to find & the orange "SEX RAPE" cover is now particularly scarce, very few of them were sold before the (very) hasty recall.

Apparently this film was shot on 8mm at a non-standard frame rate. The telecine is horrible and full of constant screen tearing.

Also yes, this disc has a ridiculous amount of glue around the edge. It seems to actually be deliberate; like the glue was intended as a sealant, but it just ended up making a huge mess. I scraped ALL of the glue off of my copy, cleaned up with 99% isopropanol and discarded the original inner sleeve. The disc still plays perfectly fine.
