Additional Information by joshzyber (1)   21/06/2003 - Last update: 22/07/2005

An adaptation of the Thomas Harris novel "Red Dragon", Michael Mann's stylish thriller was the first film to feature the character of Hannibal Lecter, here played by Brian Cox.

The Warner laserdisc contains the original theatrical cut of the film. Subsequent DVDs, even those claiming to be the "theatrical cut", have been tampered with and are missing lines of dialogue or have scenes changed.

Additional Information by admin (398)   22/07/2005

Identical release also reported with slightly different information:

  • UPC - 012569041462
  • ISBN - 0790708043

Re-release? Second manufacturing batch? Anyone to confirm?

 Additional Information by rckdeckard    17/01/2006

Includes about two minutes of extra footage not found on the DVD or the Director's Cut.

There is a major manufacturing defect on the side 3 of my copy.
