This new digital transfer was created from the original 35mm interpositive. The 35mm Optical sound track negative and the 35mm Music and Effects magnetic soundtrack were remixed in Dolby Surround and in Dolby Digital 5.1.

Disc is suposed to have a "Full-running commentary track featuring writer Nigel Kneale and director Roy Ward Baker", but I've not been able to find it.

My copy of the laserdisc has the running commentary from writer Nigel Kneale and director Roy Ward Baker.

The UK blu-ray doesn't have the superb Dolby Digital soundtrack found on the laserdisc. As of 2012 the only way to listen to the Dolby Digital track is either the laserdisc or DVD.
