Includes Will Smith's "Men in Black" Music Video in with a 5.1 soundtrack on Chapter #57.

This early AC3 was rumored to be facing a possible recall, just after its release, on (Executive Producer) Steven Spielberg's request to not promote Dolby Digital in favor of DTS. Jurassic Park [43115] was the first movie commercially available with a DTS Soundtrack, rumors were talking about a possible re-release of Men in Black in LD DTS. This never happened, probably because the number of people equipped with AC3 systems outnumbered those with DTS systems. The first AC3 release in the USA was Clear and Present Danger [LV 32463-2WS] 2 years before.

The Pioneer USA pressing is superior to the DADC pressing and has a very good chance of little/no rot. The DADC pressings I have purchased of MIB (about 8 or so) all have rot problems. I purchased one Pioneer pressing of this movie and it still has a few rot speckles but it's hardly even noticable at all in comparison.

You can distinguish between Sony and Pioneer pressings from their THX sticker affix to the wrap. The THX sticker on the Pioneer LDCA pressing has a larger gold typeface on a black background. Sony DADC pressing had a smaller sticker with white type-facing on a black paper sticker.

Includes commentary by director Barry Sonnenfeld on analog channel 1/L.

The DADC USA pressing has a mastering bug. At Side 3 chapter 57 after the movie is a very long break. The break begins at chapter 57 (approx. frame 33150) and ends approx. at frame 34600. Now follows the "Men In Black" music video. At the Pioneer USA pressing begins the music video at chapter 57 approx. frame 33150.

Starts with Columbia Tristar Home Video logo before the FBI warning, and then THX Laserdisc Broadway trailer.

The Pioneer pressed discs are in paper sleeves, while the DADC pressed discs are in elephant condoms. I have a DADC copy that's near perfect somehow.

On the Dolby Digital soundtrack, the Deep Note during the THX LaserDisc Broadway logo is in the key of C# (just like on the DVD version of the logo).
