A box set that exists solely for its packaging, this deluxe collector's edition of Schindler's List has no video supplements of any kind. In fact, stuck inside the box is the previous movie-only release of the film [41927], original gatefold jacket and all.

Included with it are a softcover copy of the Thomas Keneally novel, a photo artbook with stills taken on the set, and the soundtrack CD. That's it. That's the entire box set. You could purchase all of these things separately for a combined total less than one half the retail price. I guess the other half was for the box itself. It's black. Whoopee!

Retailing originally for the obscene price of $139.98, despite being a "Limited Edition" (mine is #00922), copies of this box set lingered on store shelves unbought for years. My local LD store slashed its price in half, and then half again, and again until I finally took mercy on them and bought it for $15 sometime in 2001.

Personally i find this Boxset beautifully presented. The booklet is embossed, has very high grade printed photos including a sheet with notes from Steven Spielberg. The CD has great audio quality. The book is excellent just a pity is not a hardback copy. Mine is stamped being No.04118
