"Don Juan" was the premiere feature used by Warner Brothers to introduce its sound-on-disc talkie format, Vitaphone. The feature is silent and includes the original Vitaphone score with sound effects. The feature is included on sides two and three. Side one consists of a program of Vitaphone shorts shown the night that "Don Juan" premiered as the first act of the bill; the feature film played after an intermission.

The shorts, which include chapter stops, are as follows:

  • Will B. Hays Introduction to Vitaphone
  • Overture to Tannhauser - New York Philharmonic
  • Mischa Elman - Humoresque and Gavotte
  • Roy Smeck in His Pastimes
  • Marion Talley - Caro Nome
  • Efrem Zimbalist and Harold Bauer - Theme and Variations from The Kreutzer Sonata
  • Giovanni Martinelli - Vesti La Giubba
  • Anna Case - La Fiesta

After the Hays introduction and just before the Tannhauser short at the chapter stop, there appears to be a one or two second video glitch where the frame goes white and looses sync for a fraction of a second. The running time of 161 minutes includes both the feature and the Vitaphone shorts included on the disc.
