Additional Information by nems (3)   17/08/2012

This film was originally released in the UK as "The Final Programme" with a running time of 89 minutes. For its North American release the title was changed to "Last Days of Man on Earth" and the film was trimmed to only 74 minutes. In addition to missing footage, the shorter edit features a few lines of alternate dialogue, as well as some additional unique dialogue (heard when an actor’s mouth is not visible on screen). Despite the differences, both edits of the film still tell the exact same story (albeit at two different paces).

The 89 minute version of “The Final Programme” has seen release on DVD (e.g. an NTSC release in 2001 by Anchor Bay), but this LaserDisc (and an equivalent VHS release) are still the only source for the 74 minute “Last Days of Man on Earth.”
