Picture quallity is superior to both the PAL and NTSC DVD box sets. Even though the sound is only in Dolby Surround on the laserdisc box sets, it is sharper than the compressed Dolby digital on the DVD box sets. I would even go as far as to say the picture quality on the DVD box sets is very soft compared to the laserdiscs.
