This version is open matte and cropped.

Movie is 11 sides, 583 minutes and includes footage not in the individual movies. The remaining 2 sides, 73 minutes is the additional disk "The Godfather Family: A Look Inside". Also included is a 22 page booklet.

The bar code is not necessarily printed anywhere in the package. The packages (at least those marked 'First Edition") have an individually numbered sticker on the inside of the box cover.

The sound technology is not listed on the disks or packaging. In the booklet it mentions that 'Godfather and Godfather Part II were remastered in Chace Surround' and 'Godfather Part III presented in Dolby Surround'.

This collection plays the story in chronological order. So it starts with scenes from The Godfather II, then moves to The Godfather and back to The Godfather II. The set is individually numbered with a sticker on the inside of the top cover of the box.

This is a Collector's Edition in every sense of the word. Francis Ford Coppola has made it clear in interviews that he approved this cut for a one-time airing on NBC-TV in November 1977 because he was desperate for funds for 'Apocalypse Now.' Coppola NEVER approved this cut for ANY home video release and, thus, it will never be released on DVD or Blu-Ray. It is, actually, the opposite of a Director's Cut. Nevertheless, 'Entertainment Weekly' once referred to this nearly ten hour movie as the best reason to own a LaserDisc player.
