The transfer for the first widescreen release of PLATOON was supervised by Director of Photography, Robert Richardson. He chose to improve upon the original look of the picture as they had run out of funds and were unable to mix in more black and white in post-production. He pushed for greater contrast and more aggressive moods. Thus, we are proud to present the originally intended colors and moods of one of the most powerful and significant films of this or any era.
