This is the T.N.T. Special Edition version and not the original TV version that was originally broadcast. This new version is made from alternative 'harder edge' takes, has more character development, has an entirely new music score by series composer Christopher Franke (Tangerine Dream), and upgraded visual effects to bring it in-line with the regular series effects.
