Additional Information by joshzyber (1)   12/09/2002

This box set contains the first season of the legendary TV series Twin Peaks. The pilot episode, which is owned by another studio, could not be included.

The picture transfer is slightly better than the American laserdiscs, but is rather soft and nowhere near as good as the later DVD remasters. Japanese subtitles are present in the picture.

The box set is highly collectible for its fancy packaging and artwork, befitting the Japanese fan-crazy obsession with the show. Each disc comes in its own jacket with individual artwork. A booklet has also been provided with episode summaries (in Japanese) and a chart of the character relationships. The series was broken into three box sets. When placed side-by-side on a shelf, their spines form the circular image of a sawblade.

Interestingly, this 1st Season box set just happens to have enough room inside to fit two extra disc jackets. This makes it very convient for storing the Pilot Episode [NJL-35205] and the Twin Peaks Visual Soundtrack [WPLP-9083].
